444-horsepower BMW M2 CS shown at Los Angeles Auto ShowNovember 21, 2019
The model was officially unveiled just at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Debuting at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the BMW M2 CS 2020 received a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine, which is capable of delivering power of approximately 444 hp and 550 Nm of torque.
The engine can be operated with a six-speed or seven-speed dual-clutch manual transmission. The car is able to accelerate from 0-96 km / h in 4.0 seconds, and then gain a maximum speed of 280 km / h. With an optional dual-clutch gearbox, acceleration from 0-96 km / h is faster by 0.2 seconds, but the maximum speed developed remains unchanged.
Besides the fact that the M2 CS is more powerful than the M2 Competition, it received an Active M differential and an Adaptive M suspension, as well as Comfort, Sport and Sport + modes. The model received a highly efficient braking system. It uses six-piston calipers and 15.7-inch (400 mm) discs at the front, and four-piston calipers and 15-inch (380 mm) discs are used at the rear. Ceramic carbon brakes M.
The appearance of the car stands out through the use of carbon fiber elements: hood, roof, front splitter, rear spoiler, rear diffuser and mirror covers. Through the use of this material, the total weight of the model was reduced. The car will receive four different colors: Alpine white, misano blue metallic, black sapphire metal and silver metallic Hockenheim, and the model will ride on 19-inch wheels with matte gold or matte black finish. Also, the BMW M2 CS 2020 received an exclusive exhaust system with electronic control and engraved “M” logos.
The interior received M Competition leather seats with Alcantara upholstery stitched in red stitching. Alcantara is used quite a lot in other places, as the material also covers the sports steering wheel, center console and instrument panel trim. Returning to the center console, it is made of carbon fiber. This allowed to reduce the weight by 2.7 kg.
Production of the BMW M2 CS 2020 starts in March 2020, the car can be purchased only for one model year. Prices in Germany start from 95,000 euros, while British customers will have to pay 75,320 pounds
