Custom Thor 24 auctioned off in Riyadh

At the Worldwide Auctioneers auction in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh sold a custom Thor 24 tractor with a huge 27.9-liter engine. The buyer paid 13.2 million dollars for the car.

An unusual truck was built by a resident of Southern California Mike Harra. Previously, it was the 1984 Peterbilt 359 Ultra Custom TT Crew Cab of 1984, which stretched the frame and installed two twin 12-cylinder diesel engines from Detroit Diesel. The motors were supplemented with eight BDS 8-71 compressors, so that the total number of superchargers reaches twelve. The working volume of the miracle motor is 27.9 liters. The length of the drive shaft spinning the compressors is more than two and a half meters.

At 2500 rpm, the 24-cylinder diesel engine delivers 3471 horsepower. Traction is transmitted to the rear axle via the Allison HT740 quad-band automatic transmission. At the top of the intake manifold eight cylinders with nitrous oxide are installed, 24 exhaust pipes allow the engine to breathe normally.

In the cabin of the tractor 24 devices are installed: speedometer, tachometer, a lot of several pressure scales, compressor operation. Above the driver there are four displays that display a picture of the road in front of the car. The recreation area has a 40-inch TV and a 1,500-watt audio system.

The 1938 Bentley 4 1/4 Liter Boattail Speedster, BMW M1, Chevrolet Impala Double Bubble Custom, several classic American muscle cars and the all-terrain Ferrari 308 Dino GT4 Safari Coupe will also be sold as part of the Riyadh Auction and Salon.
