335 hp Seat Leon ST Cupra R may be released in 2018November 21, 2017
Also, all models of the Seat brand will receive versions of the Cupra instead of the previously used FR and FR Sport.
Spanish automotive manufacturer Seat is preparing to release an even more productive version of the station wagon Seat Leon ST Cupra R with a capacity of about 335 horsepower. Its entry into the market may take place next year. This is reported by the publication of Auto Express, with reference to the sales and marketing manager of the company Wayne Griffiths.
According to the information provided by the publication, Griffiths rides on the prototype of the future novelty. It differs from the standard station wagon Seat Leon ST Cupra exhaust system ABT, 20-inch wheels and forced two-liter turbo. A copy of the hot wagon manager is covered with a matte black film with a thin copper accent. The cabin even has an improved sound system.
According to Griffiths, consumers are short of steep and fast cars in Europe. On his prototype, most motorists turn around, turning their necks. That’s why the company is exploring the possibility of bringing the new novelty to the market in 2018.
The current version of the charged station wagon Leon ST Cupra has a capacity of 296 horsepower, while the hot hatch Leon Cupra R – 310 horses. Using the same all-wheel drive system from ST Cupra and the robotic DSG gearbox, the manufacturer can make a flagship station wagon without large investments.
It is expected that the new Seat Leon ST Cupra R will be the first representative of the sub-brand of the Cupra Line, similar to the Audi S and BMW M Sport.
Previously, the Je Design studio created the “storm” Audi RS3 Sportback from the Seat Leon Cupra.
