2021 Porsche 911 GT3 prototype spotted on testsNovember 21, 2020
Reporters were able to capture test prototypes of the new Porsche Cayman GT4 RS, as well as the next generation Porsche 911 GT3. Both cars are mostly camouflaged. Both new items will be presented early next year.
We’ve seen next-generation 911 GT3 prototypes almost daily, and most of these sightings show test vehicles with little or no camouflage. This time, the long-awaited novelty does not seem to be completely covered by any disguise either. But still, there are small areas of black tape, with which the brand’s engineers are still trying to hide the body lines.
The only visible disguise attempts on this car involve branding.
On the rear, you can clearly see the hidden GT3 badge, while Porsche hides further markings that sit between the taillights. Even the headrests on the seats have a hidden logo, but that’s not enough to fool Porsche fans. In short, this is the 992 generation 911 GT3 in all its winged glory.
It’s hard to miss this very big spoiler. We have seen different test cars of the new GT3 with different aerodynamic body elements. Buyers will likely be offered several variations of the new GT3, which will use both an active wing and a neat ducktail spoiler.
This time, the spy shots also captured a prototype of the black Cayman GT4 RS. The photos were taken on the German Autobahn. The hardcore version of the Cayman, apparently, also did not receive camouflage. The GT4 RS is rumored to be powered by a 500 horsepower 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine. The new 911 GT3 should also have a 4.0-liter engine, but in this case it will produce 550 hp.
We expect Porsche to unveil the refreshed 911 GT3 and Cayman GT4 RS in early 2021. It’s unclear if the GT3 will go on sale as a 2021 or 2022 model.
Not so long ago, we wrote that Dwayne Johnson did not fit into the Porsche Taycan during the filming of the film. Big American Dwayne Johnson was able to catch the film crew of the film Red Notice by surprise when he simply could not fit into the electric sedan Porsche Taycan.
