2021 Nissan Murano receives America’s highest IIHS safety ratingApril 7, 2021
The mid-size crossover Nissan Murano performed well in crash tests.
The 2021 Nissan Murano received the Top Safety Pick + rating from the IIHS. The car received the maximum available score in all six tests, from a frontal collision with a fixed obstacle with small overlap, to the car overturning on the roof.
In addition, the researchers were impressed by the set of active security systems. It is reported that all 2021 Nissan Muranos will be equipped with a frontal collision warning system with recognition of pedestrians and cyclists. This system allowed the car to collide with the dummy only once during the tests.
Note that the current generation of the crossover appeared in the North American market back in 2015. Then the Nissan Murano also received a Top Safety Pick + rating, but after restyling in 2017, IIHS tightened the tests and the car received a slightly worse rating – Top Safety Pick.
