2021 Lexus IS to receive sports accessories from TRD and ModellistaNovember 7, 2020
Toyota Racing Development (TRD) and independent tuning company Modellista have released sports body kits for the 2021 Lexus IS sedan in Japan in the F Sport version. At the moment, kits from TRD and Modellista are only available in Japan. The price was not disclosed.
When the updated 2021 Lexus IS was unveiled in June, it received some pretty serious backlash as it looked similar to the model it replaces. This is actually to be expected since it was just a facelift and not a new generation of cars, although admittedly, the fact that we have been looking at the same compact sedan since 2013 caused a lot of negativity.
Lexus aficionados, who will continue to choose the IS no matter what, will be delighted to hear that court tuning company Toyota Racing Development (TRD) and independent tuning company Modellista have released sports body kits for the Japanese sedan in the F Sport version.
For the TRD, sporting resin parts are available, including a front spoiler, aerodynamic mirror caps, side skirts and a rear diffuser. TRD also sells stainless steel sports mufflers as well as a set of 20-inch forged alloy wheels in Melanite Gun Metallic finish. For increased performance, you have the option of ordering a Yamaha damper designed to improve steering stability at high speeds.
Modellista, on the other hand, offers pretty much the same exterior / interior elements for the Lexus IS, but with a different approach to styling. While the TRD kits are black, Modellista opted for chrome. A set of 19-inch wheels is also offered.
Tuning kits from TRD and Modellista are currently only available in Japan. The price has not been disclosed as at the time of this writing.
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that Lexus published prices for the IS sedan of the 2021 model year. The press service of the Japanese automaker has published data on the premium sedan Lexus IS 2021 model year. The novelty comes with a large number of options, many of which for the first time became standard for absolutely all model trim levels.
