2021 Ford F-150 gets reclining seatsNovember 14, 2020
The reason Ford designed the Max Recline seats specifically for the 2021 F-150 full-size pickup truck is simple. According to their creators, these are one of the most comfortable seats for pickup drivers – they are very comfortable to sleep in.
For the first time, a 2021 American Ford F-150 truck will come with Max Recline Seats, which, as the name suggests, allow the front seats to tilt as much as possible up to 180 degrees.
We know this sounds corny, but if you work for hours on a construction site, a short nap in the truck will be a great relief. In fact, Ford, after reviewing hundreds of hours of video and thousands of photographs while researching the need to fit these seats, found that truck owners actually sleep in them very often.
“We know that people working on construction or mining sites use truck cabs to sleep during downtime, and we learned that ordinary owners do that too,” said Jackie DiMarco, Ford Truck Line Director.
We have to say that this is a simple yet convenient feature, and Ford sees this new feature being used even outside of work, citing hours spent waiting for a son or daughter competing in a sports tournament all day.
It should be noted that five patents have been issued for the new 2021 Max Recline F-150 seats, although the design process was not really complicated. The entire mechanism does not even need additional electric motors to operate.
“There are no additional motors in these seats – just a simple mechanism that requires a person to move the seat back using the power recline function,” said Ben Kulhavik, seat design and production engineer. Max Recline seats available in F-150 2021 King Ranch, Platinum and Limited
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote about the published data on the fuel consumption of the Ford F-150 pickup 2021. The US Environmental Agency (EPA) has published data on the fuel consumption for the full-size pickup Ford F-150 2021 model year. The data for the diesel engine is not included in the list. The new PowerBoost Full Hybrid V6 is the most efficient so far.
