Experts from the km77.com organization tested the possibility of the high-performance German hatchback Mercedes-AMG A45 S version 2020 model year, to pass the “moose test”. Despite its racing pedigree, the car has shown itself to be ambiguous.

The new Mercedes-AMG A45 S is the most powerful high-performance hatchback on sale today. Despite being built on an all-wheel drive platform with a front-wheel advantage, it has a drift mode that allows all available power to be transferred to just the rear wheels, thereby allowing the driver to drift into a controlled drift.

Thus, it is the German hatchback that should have perfect handling and almost perfect steering.

However, despite all his clever technologies, he could not pass the so-called “moose test”.

This test simulates a situation on the road when an obstacle, for example, a huge elk, suddenly appears on the way of the car. The driver needs to dodge the obstacle and then try to get back into his lane as quickly as possible. And this task proved too difficult for the high-performance A45 S, which could not pass this test at a speed of 77 km / h

Enabling the sport mode did not help, as it did not affect the driving style of the car. The driver had to reduce the initial speed to 75 km / h to prevent the hot hatch from hitting a single cone. Interestingly, the BMW M235i Gran Coupe, which has a similar layout to the A45 S, also failed the test.

With a whopping 421 hp. (500 Nm), which is generated by its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, AMG’s best hot hatchback can reach a top speed of 270 km / h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds.

Not so long ago, our publication wrote that the Mercedes-AMG A45 S flies the Nürburgring circle in 7 minutes 48 seconds. The video shows how the high-performance German hatchback Mercedes-AMG A45 S can drive the Nürburgring race track in 7 minutes 48 seconds.
