2020 Genesis GV80 shown right before its official debutJanuary 13, 2020
The long-awaited 2020 Genesis GV80 was announced ahead of the January 15 premiere.
Two teaser videos posted by a South Korean carmaker on YouTube ask, “When was the last time you experienced something for the first time?”
While neither of these two teaser videos shows us the look of an SUV, 3D Nori video shows a 3D model of a car based on recently leaked images. The most intriguing exterior elements in the GV80’s design are separate headlights and taillights, first demonstrated by the GV80 Concept in 2017 and designed to face-lift the G80 sedan.
Photographs showing the interior of the GV80 showed that it would be much more modern than the G80 and G90, and comes with a widescreen infotainment display located on the dashboard. There will also be a digital instrument cluster and a two-spoke steering wheel.
At the heart of the Genesis SUV will be a rear-wheel-drive platform with an all-wheel drive, available as an option. In South Korea, the GV80 is initially offered with a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel delivering 274 hp. and 434 Nm (589 Nm) of torque in combination with 8-speed automatic transmission. Shortly after this engine is unveiled, a 300-liter 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. and a torque of 311 lb-ft (422 Nm) will be added to the range.
