2020 Drako GTE or new electric hypercarAugust 20, 2019
The California novelty will be able to reach a speed of 331 km / h. The car received four electric motors – one for each axis. The total power will be 1200 hp. (8800 Nm).
A new electric hypercar will soon appear in the world, and it looks very promising. The novelty was built by the Californian company Drako and has a fairly simple name – GTE. The presentation will take place today at the Pebble Beach Classic Car Show. According to the automaker’s press release, their electric car is a technologically advanced vehicle. Such fantastic features from an as yet unknown automaker are not unusual, but you should definitely watch the video above to make sure that this is not an ordinary car.
So what are these fantastic features that we mentioned? For starters, the GTE has four electric motors, one for each wheel, which produce a total of 1,200 horsepower and 8,800 Nm of torque. No, this is not a typo. The maximum speed of this hypercar is 331 km / h.
Having four separate engines also means that GTE can make extensive use of torque vectoring. Each engine transfers power through a direct drive gearbox, and a computer system can precisely control the power of each wheel. Company officials say torque vector distribution algorithms can adjust the torque on each wheel more than 1,000 times per second. This number seems rather fantastic to us, but, again, the published video from the tests of the car shows that it is really damn well controlled.
The company, unknown so far, plans to build only 25 copies of the electric hypercar worth 1.25 million dollars each, and deliveries will begin in 2020.
