2020 Chevy Corvette in a powerful version of the Z06 will receive three different wing optionsAugust 30, 2020
Thanks to reporters, it was possible to learn that the sports coupe Chevrolet Corvette in a more powerful version of the Z06 (for the racetrack) will be offered with three configurations of the rear wing. The novelty will go on sale as a 2022 auto.
The next generation Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is set to take on even more racing car habits. We already know that the new product will have an engine unlike any of the production motors used in the Corvette. The Z06 performance has long been positioned as a sports coupe version, which is primarily intended for the racetrack.
One of the features of this design of the machine is the large downforce, which is provided by the rear wing. Some sources report that the all-new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will be available with three different wing configurations.
The standard C8 Stingray can be purchased without a wing or with a small wing from the Z51 version
The new Z06 will be offered a similar fixed wing, similar to the style of the Z51, which will serve as the base for the Z06. The second option is significantly larger, but it will not be as large as on the more powerful Corvette C8.R. It is said to have a different shape with a curve in the middle to improve rear visibility. This will likely be the wing that you get with the optional Z07 package, which should add a host of other aerodynamic and exterior styling elements such as carbon fiber wheels.
We’ve already seen GM patents for active aerodynamics technology, which looks pretty impressive. This brings us to the third type of wing that will be offered for the new Z06. Presumably, the new product will have active adjustments of both the wing itself and the side flaps. There is no mention of how it will look. If GM’s patent application indicates what lies ahead, the wing will be just one small piece of a comprehensive active aerodynamics package that includes fenders and vents throughout the car, and possibly also active ride height control.
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that Chevy is starting sales of the 2020 Corvette C8 Convertible. The sporty Chevy Corvette convertible arrives at the automaker’s showrooms after a long delay due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The production of this version of the model started earlier this month.
