2020 BMW S1000XR unveiled at EICMA 2019November 13, 2019
At the EICMA 2019 exhibition, the German automaker showed the flagship S1000XR of 2020 – this is the second generation of the model. The motorcycle has received many changes.
The BMW S1000XR 2020 is not a restyling, but a global motorcycle recycling. He received a new chassis, a power unit that was installed on the latest generation S1000RR sportbike. The 999 cc engine derated to 162 horsepower at 11,000 rpm. Torque, in turn, increased by only 1 Nm and now reaches 114 Nm.
The motorcycle boasts rich equipment. Already in the basic configuration, the buyer receives a huge dashboard that can connect to all the necessary devices. It can display everything from calls to navigation. The S1000XR also received a Dynamic ESA electronic suspension, a six-axis IMU, which allows all systems (traction control, corner ABS, wheelie control, engine braking, etc.) to work together and create the conditions for the greatest comfort and safety when driving on the road .
The motorcycle has become lighter by 5 kilograms, and now its mass with a full tank reaches 226 kilograms – this is a very good result, surpassing even the Ducati Multistrada 1260.
And the cost of the new BMW S1000XR will be much less.
At the same exhibition, EICMA 2019 introduced the Indian FTR1200 Rally 2020. In technical terms, this is the same basic version, but they differ greatly in appearance.
