This vintage 1973 FJ-45 Land Cruiser pickup truck will be sold at Mecum auction in Florida (USA) at the end of August. Its initial price is not indicated. Under its hood is a powerful V8 engine.

These days, the new generation of the Ford Bronco SUV is on the lips of almost every off-road enthusiast around the planet. It’s certainly not the only car of its kind in history – let’s not forget the Toyota Land Cruiser SUVs and older FJs like this 1973 FJ-45. This Japanese pickup truck will be sold at Mecum Auctions at the end of August.

I must say that this particular car is special, and not only because it looks almost like new.

Under the hood of this pale green FJ is not an inline-six from the era, but a 5.7-liter Chevrolet V8 with modern fuel injection. Yes, we have a restomod, and it has a lot of updates. The pickup gets an updated five-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear wheels or all four when needed. From the photos, the pickup has a set of massive BF Goodrich off-road tires and looks ready to travel pretty much anywhere, on the road or not.

The accompanying text to the car does not contain complete information about the process of its restoration or other updates, except for the installation of a modern sound system for the driver and passengers. The car is also equipped with air conditioning to keep the cabin cool. In case this FJ finds itself somewhere it can’t get out of, a Warn winch is installed on the front bumper. It is only indicated that an extensive restoration of this car was carried out by a local Toyota dealership in 2003, and its current owner bought the car in 2005. Maintenance and refurbishment documents are reportedly available.

At the moment, there is no mention of what the starting price of this Japanese restomod pickup is. We’ve seen similar models from the era that cost $ 40,000

Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that Toyota Sequoia received a special version and a new shade. The current generation Toyota Sequoia has been on sale for about 13 years. And Toyota decided to freshen up the model a bit by unveiling a special edition on Wednesday August 12th and adding a new shade to the color palette.
