1955 Chevrolet Nomad with wood ceiling for saleDecember 21, 2019
At the Barrett-Jackson auction, they will sell the exclusive 1955 Chevrolet Nomad Wagon of the production year, which was substantially modified and equipped with a V8 engine with a return of 625 hp. The car is called Gone Mad, which translates as “crazy”.
Modernization of the car was done by the specialists of the American company Classic Car Studios. The body was made virtually from scratch, then covered with Glasurit shade paint, now under 5 layers of transparent wet sanding.
The station wagon received Billet Specialties wheels, 18-inch front cars and 20-inch rear. The interior was trimmed with Relicate leather and it is almost everywhere: on seats, door panels, steering wheel, visors, armrest and even in the trunk. At the same time, the ceiling is made of wood.
The 8.3-liter 8-cylinder engine at the time of work on this project was completely new. The engine is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission Bowler 4L80E.
It should be noted that in 2016, Gone Mad was shown at SEMA, then it appeared on the cover of Super Chevy magazine. The cost of the lot under 1320 numbers has not yet been disclosed.
