Coupe is designed to be the fastest road car
The American company SSC North America published a short video in which you can see the Tuatara hypercar while driving. Coupe will be released in an edition of 100 copies, and according to the creators should be the fastest road car.
The SSC Tuatara is equipped with a 5.9-liter V8 with two turbochargers, liquid intercoolers and an injection system with two nozzles per cylinder. On ordinary gasoline, the engine produces 1350 horsepower, on the benzoethyl mixture E85 – 1750 horsepower.
The first prototype of the Tuatary debuted at the Pebble Beach elegance competition in 2011. At the initial stage, the car was planned to be equipped with a 6.9-liter V8 engine with two turbochargers. Design capacity – 1700 forces when using racing fuel. The serial hypercar with design from ex-stylist Pininfarina Jason Kastriota showed only in August 2018.
The design Tuatara mainly used carbon fiber. The mass of the hypercar is 1247 kilograms, and the coefficient of aerodynamic drag is 0.279. In Bugatti Chiron, this figure is equal to 0.38, while for Koenigsegg Agera – 0.33.
