In Thailand, the debut of the Japanese Toyota Corolla Cross. Crossover 2021 model also received a plug-in hybrid version.
For many years, we talked about the fact that crossovers and SUVs are in great demand all over the world. Realizing this, Toyota introduced the new Toyota Corolla Cross. The debut of the car took place in Thailand. And yes, this new crossover is based on the legendary Toyota Corolla, which was first introduced 54 years ago.
Of course, the Corolla Cross 2021 model year is built on the same Toyota New Global Architecture C (TGNA-C) platform, which underlies the Corolla sedan / station wagon and the compact C-HR crossover.
In size, the new Corolla Cross is a cross between the C-HR and RAV4. Its length is 4,460 mm, a width of 1,825 mm and a height of 1,620 mm. The wheelbase is 2 640 mm.
In Thailand, Corolla Cross was presented in two versions. One version of the novelty received a 1.8-liter gasoline engine 2ZR-FBE with 140 horsepower (175 Nm), which will transmit torque to the front wheels through the variator.
A hybrid power plant with a 600-volt electric motor, which can produce 72 hp, will also be available to customers. power and 163 Nm of torque. The electric motor works in conjunction with the 1.8-liter 2ZR-FXE engine, which develops 98 hp. (142 Nm). Hybrid Corolla Cross comes with Toyota electronic variator.
In terms of appearance, the Corolla Cross is very similar to modern cars that are sold in Southeast Asia. The novelty of course has a not so shocking design in comparison with the same C-HR, with its giant false radiator grille.
There is no data on when the Corolla Cross crossover will go on sale, nor information on how much it will cost.
