The power of the Audi e-tron will exceed 400 hp

The German manufacturer revealed the characteristics that the first mass electric vehicle of the brand will have.

The manufacturer claims that the key feature of the Audi e-tron will be the recovery system, which will provide up to 30% of the electric crossover power reserve. For the first time in the car, three recovery modes will be combined, with which the system will cover more than 90% of the deceleration, that is, the battery will be charged in almost all brake maneuvers. Audi has not yet reported the capacity of the battery pack, reporting only that the stock of e-tron will be more than 400 km for a new cycle of WLTP.

The power unit of the crossover consists of two electric motors, the maximum output of which is 360 hp (265 kW) of power and 561 Nm of torque. The time, during which the crossover is capable of delivering peak power, reaches 60 seconds. Thus, the electric vehicle can accelerate several times to a speed limit of 200 km/h, limited to electronics, without loss of return.

In addition, traditionally for electric vehicles, the maximum torque is available almost immediately after the start, and there is also a “boost” mode, activated when switching the driving mode D to S and fully depressed the right pedal. The duration of the action is eight seconds. In it, the recoil increases to more than 407 hp. and 664 Nm. Audi e-tron accelerates from zero to 100 km/h “in less than six seconds”, however, it is not reported, in the usual or “boost” mode.

It is assumed that the crossover Audi e-tron for the price will be comparable to the Tesla Model X. So, if you compare the American electric and German, Audi, to put it mildly, is not impressive. The base version of the Model X 75D for 94,850 euros is able to drive one charge approximately 417 km, accelerate to the first 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds and to a top speed of 210 km/h. The advanced version of the 100D has a power reserve of about 565 km, the acceleration time to 100 km/h is 4.9 seconds, and the maximum speed is 250 km/h, this car costs 114,400 euros. Finally, the top P100D for 156 100 euros develops 774 hp and 967 Nm. It will pass about 540 km, and from a place to 100 km / h will shoot for 3.1 seconds, the maximum speed – 250 km/h.

Perhaps, the Audi electric crossover driver will have some advantages that the company does not hurry to disclose. It is already known that the German model will be the first among the production cars to get cameras instead of side mirrors. The e-tron premiere was due in August, but it was postponed, presumably for the fall.
