Japanese automotive publications again declassify the details of the new generation Toyota Land Cruiser 300. Despite the fact that the SUV is still built on a frame platform, it should be easier and safer than its predecessor. According to the engineers, the weight reduction was achieved due to the greater use of composite materials and lightweight high-strength metal alloys.
SUV 2020 model year will have a length of over five meters. The distance between the axes is 2,850 mm. In addition, the model will receive modern active safety systems, entry-level autonomous control systems, and the central console will be updated with a touchscreen display in the Tesla Model S style.
As the power unit for the Land Cruiser 300, a 3.5-liter biturbo engine will be used, capable of developing up to 450 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. Together with him, an automatic transmission will be installed on ten steps, and a branded all-wheel drive system will be included in the standard equipment.
The new generation Toyota Land Cruiser 300 is expected to go on sale next year.
Meanwhile, Toyota is going to launch a brand new crossover. It is assumed that the model will take place between the RAV4 and C-HR. So far, not a lot of details.
