The largest advertising agency WPP ranked the 100 most expensive brands in the world. Among the brands represented in the study, there were only five automobile brands. The most expensive of all – Toyota, which ranked 36th in the overall ranking. Its cost is estimated at 29.987 billion dollars. Compared to the results of 2017, the cost of the Japanese brand increased by 5%.
On the second place among automobile brands – Mercedes-Benz (46th place in the general rating). Experts estimated the cost of the Bavarian brand at $ 25.684 billion. This is 9% more than a year earlier. Closes the top three most expensive automobile brands of BMW (25.624 billion dollars). This figure is 4% higher than in 2017.
The fourth is Ford, whose value is estimated at $ 12.742 billion (-2%). In the overall standings, the American brand took 96th place. In the fifth place among auto companies – Honda (12.695 billion dollars).
The most expensive brand of the world, analysts recognized Google (302.1 billion dollars). According to the agency, the company’s value for the year increased by 23%. On the second line of Apple ($ 300.6 billion). The third place was taken by Amazon (207.6 billion), which overtook Microsoft ($ 200.987 billion).
As reported by RBC, this list is not a rating of the most expensive companies at market value. In the company itself they explain that the research “takes into account people’s opinion about the brands they buy”.
“In order to determine how much in dollars the brand has contributed to the value of the corporation itself, the rating combines brand equity measurements based on interviews with more than three million consumers with a thorough analysis of the company’s financial performance,” the WPP said.
