The Byton crossover is officially presentedJanuary 8, 2018
In Las Vegas, on the eve of the opening of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), a presentation of the new brand electric-crossover took place.
While the all-terrain vehicle is presented in the status of a prototype, it was named after the brand – Byton Concept. In the series, the electric SUV will be launched by the end of 2019, and the company stated that the product model as a whole will retain the design of the concept. Sell the novelty is planned in the US and China. By the way, the preliminary price of the “first-born” Byton for the US market has already been announced – from $ 45,000, an application for an electric car can be left on the brand’s website.
The length of the Byton Concept is 4 850 mm, width – 1 940 mm, height – 1 650 mm. Instead of traditional exterior mirrors, the prototype received video cameras, instead of door handles, cameras are also installed, recognizing the faces of authorized users.
In the cabin – a giant digital front panel (width – 1,25 m), in the steering wheel is built-in 8-inch display, apparently fulfilling the role of “instrumentation”. On the tablet and installed in the back of the front seats.
It is expected that the base serial Byton cross will be available with an electric motor with a power of 272 hp, a power reserve of about 402 km. The top modification is equipped with two electric motors, the cumulative output is 476 hp, on one charge such an all-terrain vehicle can drive about 523 km. At the start of sales, the crossover will be equipped with a third-level autonomous control system, later the model will receive an autopilot of the 4th level.
After entering the crossover market, the Byton brand plans to launch an electric sedan and a minivan. There are no details about these models yet. Release of cars of a new brand will be adjusted at a factory in China. Recall, Byton belongs to the company Future Mobility Corporation, which employs former employees of BMW i and Tesla.
The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) will open in Las Vegas for media representatives on January 8, for the public on January 9th. As previously reported, the CES-2018 also debuts the Hyundai hydrogen crossover and the electric Kia SUV.
