Suzuki will present a new subbrand along with a model for young people in AugustJune 28, 2018
The Japanese company announced a novelty for the Indonesian motor show GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show). The motor show will open in late summer this year.
At the exhibition in Indonesia, Suzuki will show a conceptual city car, which later turns into a production model. This is reported by the portal Kompas with reference to the representative of the local office of the company. According to the source, the prototype will mark the premiere of the Suzuki sub-brand, created specifically for the Indonesian market, and the product version of the novelty will be designed for customers under 35 years old.
Under the new brand, it is also planned to produce other models, outside of Indonesia they will not appear. It is possible that this is not a separate independent brand, but a brand, under which special versions of the current Suzuki will be sold. For example, luxury versions of cars Buick and Ford are offered with prefixes Avenir and Vignale, respectively, and charged Toyota – under the subbrand GR. All details about the new Suzuki and subbrands will appear at the end of summer: the GIIAS auto show will be held from 2 to 12 August this year.
At the end of 2017, Suzuki ranks fifth in sales in the Indonesian market: last year the company sold 111,660 new cars. The first line belongs to Toyota (more than 370,000 cars), Honda (186,859 units) in the second position, Daihatsu got the third place (186,381 copies), on the fourth – Mitsubishi (121,395 units).
Earlier it became known that in the framework of the GIIAS Honda will present its novelty. According to preliminary data, the commodity version of the compact hatch Brio of the next generation will debut at the exhibition. The precursor of the model is the Small RS Concept – Honda also demonstrated in Indonesia in April this year.
