Restyling Peugeot 308 turned out to be rather modestJune 11, 2020
The second generation Peugeot 308 appeared on the car market back in 2013, having survived a minor update 4 years later.
The main competitors of the model – for example, VW Golf and Ford Focus – have already received restyling, but the French hatchback got only light upgrades.
According to the Peugeot press center, changes in appearance are limited to replenishing the color palette with the new Bleu Vertigo color, as well as the appearance of other design options for rims and the Black Pack set, which consists of glossy black elements.
The main upgrade in the cabin was the appearance of a 10-inch virtual digital dashboard. In the engine line, everything remains the same. So, in Europe, the hatchback and station wagon will have a 1.2-liter PureTech gas turbo engine or a 1.5-liter BlueHD diesel engine. The first is offered in versions of 110 and 130 hp, the second produces 100 and 130 hp, while standard variations are combined with a 6-speed manual transmission, more productive ones with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Peugeot 308 GTi has not changed, having a 4-cylinder 263-horsepower turbocharged 1.6-liter engine.
Restyling Peugeot 308 was quite restrained. At the same time, the French brand, as if, is going to release 308 new generation, and already in 2021. Therefore, a full-scale update of the current model would be inappropriate.
