Pininfarina prepares rival Lamborghini Urus
October 12, 2019Pininfarina is going to showcase new machines every 12 months for the next 4 years as part of the new line. And the next in line will be a crossover that will surpass the Lamborghini Urus. He should be out in the middle of next year.
The concepts of the halo model of an Italian company – the 1900-horsepower electric Battista – should be built in mid-2020 before the first deliveries to customers scheduled for next year. In total, the manufacturer plans to release 150 units of the Battista model, the cost of each of which will be approximately 2 million pounds.
Models that should go for a limited variation of the hypercar will be cheaper, the company said. A crossover competing with Urus will cost about 250 thousand pounds. But, unlike the Urus, the Pininfarina SUV will work exclusively on electric traction.
The company recently announced that its future range of electric cars will be based on architectures that are created with Bosch Engineering and Benteler. The platform will provide the company with greater flexibility in terms of equipment, as it will be possible to attach a pair of electric motors to each axis.
Pininfarina’s current manufacturing base is located in Cambiano, where Battista will be manually assembled. The authorities plan to create an additional production complex, ideally in Italy, where a new additional assortment of models will be produced.
