Land Rover refused to launch another SUV seriesFebruary 15, 2019
Land Rover has canceled the release of another model. She became a hardcore modification Discovery – Discovery SVX. It was expected that the serial version of the SUV, based on the 2017 concept of the same name, would go on sale before the end of 2018.
The construction of the SUV should have been done by the Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division, and in the Land Rover lineup it could be on the same level as the models of the SVR line and SVAutobiography. Discovery SVX was planned to be equipped with a V8 engine, but such units, according to the brand representative, are no longer considered for the car. However, the SVX designation itself is reserved for future models.
Concept Land Rover Discovery SVX equipped with a five-liter V8 with a drive supercharger. The unit, combined with the eight-band “automatic”, developed 525 horsepower and 625 Nm of torque. The SUV received air suspension and active anti-roll bars, an active central differential, an electronically controlled rear differential, and a Terrain Response II driving mode selection system.
In late January, the leadership of the group Jaguar Land Rover announced that it refuses to launch the ultra-luxury three-door version of the Range Rover – SV Coupe. The modification was planned to release a limited edition of 999 copies and sell at a price of 240,000 pounds sterling. The reason for this decision was a record quarterly loss of 3.4 billion pounds and a new strategy to reduce operating expenses.
