The first hybrid Lamborghini, known by the internal designation LB48H, will receive the Unico product name. The edition of the supercar will be limited to 63 copies. The price of each will be 2.5 million dollars

According to preliminary information, the design of the car will be based on the Terzo Millennio concept presented earlier. The Unico will be equipped with a V12 internal combustion engine with a displacement of 6.5 liters, capable of developing up to 789 horsepower. Together with him will work electric motor for 49 horsepower. Production of the model will begin only in the middle of next year.

The conceptual Terzo Millennio was developed in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. As conceived by engineers, such a hypercar should be equipped with an electric power plant, powered by a set of “innovative supercapacitors.”

The hypercar carbon monocoque is a traction battery. It also integrates nanotubes filled with a special chemical composition. In case of damage to the structure and the appearance of microcracks, the body of Terzo Millennio can self-repair.

Most likely, the model will be built around a carbon monocoque, which ensures the safety and rigidity of the structure with a small mass. Unfortunately, other details are not yet known.

The first mass hybrid supercar Lamborghini will be the new generation Aventador.

In the meantime, the Lamborghini Huracan has got a couple of hundred extra horses under the hood. The Italian supercar moved into the hypercar class after TR3 Performance specialists awarded it with a double turbocharger.
