The GM Defense division, owned by General Motors Corporation, has signed an agreement with the US Army that provides for the supply of SUVs for motorized rifle units.

Novelties are developed on the basis of the Colorado model, and in their design used up to 90% of parts from ordinary cars. The presentation of the American ISV SUV took place in 2019.

Under the agreement, GM Defense is required to build, supply and service the ISV. The initial purchase volume is 649 cars, for which the defense department will have to pay $ 214.3 million. In total, the Ministry of Defense of America is going to buy 2065 buggies.

Buggy ISV tried to make it as light and compact as possible. As noted, for the ISV SUV there are no barriers in terms of terrain for movement. This is ensured by a mechatronics control system that automatically adjusts to road conditions. The machine is equipped with a 197-horsepower diesel engine of 2.8 liters, with which a 6-speed automatic transmission functions.

In addition, it was recently reported that GM plans to use the Zora name for the flagship version of the Corvette C8. According to assumptions, the new model will debut before the end of 2023.
