In July, the fifth season of Formula E, the “formulaic” electric car championship, ended. The organizers of the series published data on audience size and revenue – compared with the fourth season, growth was achieved in many indicators.
So in the fifth season, the revenue of the organizers of Formula E was 200 million euros, which is more than 50% higher than in the fourth season. For the first time in the history of the racing series, EBITDA was positive. However, specific figures in the Formula E are not given.
The racing series continued to attract a young audience. So on social networks, the age of 72% of all Formula E subscribers does not exceed 35 years, and the number of subscribers has increased by 212% compared to the fourth season.
The fifth season of Formula E was visited by a record number of spectators – in total, more than 400 thousand people watched the stages of the past championship from the stands. The organizers also reported on the growth of the television audience by 24% year on year. At the same time, the total television audience of 13 races amounted to 411 million people.
The sixth season of Formula E starts in Saudi Arabia, where the first two races of the championship will be held on November 22 and 23.
