Declassified design the next-generation Volkswagen TouaregOctober 18, 2016
From the Chinese Patent Office were the first sketches of the new Volkswagen Touareg. Many elements of the design borrows from the concept of T-Prime Concept GTE, shown at the Beijing Motor Show last year.
The new Touareg will be based on the MLB platform, which is already used Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga, which means the SUV will get bigger and lighter than its predecessor.
Under the hood, expect the new diesel 300 hp and V6 petrol with 330 hp. Furthermore, logic dictates, will be plug-in hybrid version also, which uses a transmission Q7 e-tron – 3,0-liter TDI engine with an electric motor and lithium-ion battery.
The concept, presaging a new SUV, has a length of 5.06 meters – one centimeter longer than the Phaeton, 1999 mm in width and 1707 mm in height. Inside is located a 12-inch screen of the instrument panel, a curved 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 9.6-inch touch screen monitor, located in the center between the seats with which the rear seat passengers can control some functions.
Recall this fall Volkswagen will introduce two new products – in October debut Atlas crossover, and in November the Germans show a restyled Golf.
