The American company announced the launch of a revocable campaign which will include models of the SUV segment and pickups.

The American concern announced the recall of pickups and SUVs. The reason for the recall campaign is a defect in the brake vacuum pump, which has already caused 113 traffic accidents, including 13 of which were injured.

So, according to published information, 3.46 million cars that were produced between 2014 and 2018 were included in the review: Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado, Tahoe and Suburban, as well as GMC Sierra and Yukon.

Specialists from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the USA (NHTSA) note that the pump does not create the necessary pressure in the vacuum booster, which affects the braking efficiency.

By the way, for the first time reports from the NHTSA about this problem came in November 2018. At that time, it was clarified that for this reason there were nine accidents, as a result of which people received two injuries. In July 2019, the concern began an internal investigation.

According to company representatives, on cars that were released after 2018, a different, more advanced design of the problem node is used and does not have a defect.

In addition, General Motors said that 270 thousand cars in the United States are also subject to recall, including 177 thousand 2018-2019 Chevrolet Malibu models equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. An error has been detected on these machines in the control module software, which can lead to a shutdown of the fuel injectors.
