BMW announces the premiere of the revived 8-SeriesMay 14, 2018
BMW has published a new teaser image of the serial version of the revived 8-Series. Also Bavarians named the date of the premiere of the novelty. The debut of the car will take place on June 15 as part of the 24-hour Le Mans marathon, and its European sales will start in November.
The basic motor for the car will be a three-liter diesel engine. This unit will be equipped with a modification with an index of 830d. In addition, it is possible that the model will have a version with a 4.4-liter petrol twin-turbo V8, as well as a 12-cylinder unit.
The “charged” version of the M8 will be equipped with an upgraded version of the 4.4-liter engine from the new generation M5 sedan, which now develops 600 horsepower. From it, the coupe will get and the all-wheel drive system.
The new 8-Series will be built on the modular architecture of CLAR, which underlies the 5-Series and 7-Series models. The G-8 will have an open-body modification, and a variant with four doors, a prototype of which was shown in March at the Geneva Motor Show. A serial version of this car will be presented next year.
