Atelier Roush states that they created the fastest version of the F-150 pickupJuly 12, 2019
The project of the American tuning studio Roush called Nitemare. According to representatives of the company, the car can accelerate to 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds and is the fastest pickup in the world.
Atelier Roush is widely known among fans of Ford cars as racing participation, and a great love for the modernization of cars of the American brand. In February 2019, the Detroit tuner introduced its newest “muscular” pick-up truck called the Nitemare, built on the basis of the new version of the full-size F-150. Among other things, its 5.0-liter V8 is equipped with a large supercharger, which forcibly delivers 650 horsepower to all wheels.
With this car, the Roush team traveled to Milan to the west of Detroit for high-speed measurements and the results were impressive. In fact, the Roush Nitemare now claims to be the fastest pickup in the world, but there are some noticeable caveats. More on this later.
As you can see in the video above, the guys went to the track with a few Ford representatives to record this event. They also took with them several copies of the upgraded Nitemare F-150, two of them with a Super Crew cab (4 doors) and one two-door Regular Cab truck. According to the measurements, it was the latter who managed to accelerate to 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds. According to the company, this is the fastest time ever set by a pickup truck. A car with a four-door cab reaches the same speed in 4.1 seconds.
All this is impressive, but we are forced to point out several noticeable catches. Roush claims to be the fastest production truck, but the 2-door version of the Nitemare cab was not really a production model. In a press release, Roush says that time was set by an “engineering test truck, an EQUIVALENT serial model.”
