A new lineup of Top Gear shows has been announcedOctober 22, 2018
New Top Gear presenters will be a comedian and cricket player
BBC Corp. has announced a new lineup for Top Gear. The British comedian Paddy McGuinness and the former captain of the UK cricket team Andrew “Freddy” Flintoff will join Chris Harris, who has been co-host of the show for the last two years.
Matt Leblanc announced his departure from Top Gear this summer. He will leave the show after the end of the coming twenty-sixth season, the airing of which is scheduled for the beginning of 2019. He explained his departure by the fact that due to frequent shooting and traveling he spends less time with his family and friends.
Another host of the show, Rory Reed, will remain, as they say in the BBC, “part of the Top Gear family,” but will no longer be in the main lineup of the show. He is expected to continue leading the half-hour Top Gear spin-off called Extra Gear. Also in some episodes Sabine Schmitz will continue to take part.
The new lineup will appear in Top Season Season 27, which will begin filming next year.
